Fairness for All, Including Muslims?

Fairness is not the issue. In WW2 did we allow Nazis to enlist in the US military? No! Did we allow loyal subjects of the Emperor of Japan
to enlist in the US military? No! We did allow Germans and Japanese to enlist because we were smart enough to separate nationality from beliefs, but they served in theaters of the miltary's choosing-Japanese in Europe and Germans in the Pacific.
We realized that even if the Japanese or the German was an American citizen, he could still be a loyal subject of the Emperor of Japan or a Nazi. It took time to determine that. American citizenship does not necessarily determine loyalty. Therefore, arrest, detention and internment for the duration of the war was not an unreasonable response in the lack of evidence to the contrary.
"A viper is nonetheless a viper whenever the egg is hatched - so a Japanese American, born of Japanese parents - grows up to be a Japanese, not an American." This was not true of all Japanese, because not all were a loyal subject of the Emperor of Japan. This was also not true of all Germans and Italians because not all were true Nazis.
