I am not from Louisana, but this is outrageous!

From Family Research Council, Tony Perkins's Washington Update:
Here We Come A-Rallying...

Based on feedback we're getting from the seven million phone calls we've made into key states, you probably have a better chance of getting through to the big guy at the North Pole than the offices of some United States Senators. In my home state of Louisiana, about 150 sign-toting Americans joined me as I attempted to deliver one last appeal to Senator Mary Landrieu at her Baton Rouge office. To my utter amazement, I was turned away by federal security who told me her office was closed for the "holidays" and her staff on vacation. No wonder thousands of calls have gone unanswered. While the Senate is debating one of--if not the most--far-reaching pieces of legislation in the history of the U.S. Congress, the voices of citizens are being ignored. While the Senator's vacationing staff could not take calls or letters from citizens, members of her press team were on site trying to spin the grassroots protest. People are outraged, and they should be!

Americans everywhere are putting their Christmas plans on hold to turn out by the thousands against the Senate version of health care reform. Less than 24-hours after the deal was announced for Ben Nelson, 2,000 people gathered to protest in Omaha . Today, they're planning a second rally at Sen. Ben Nelson's office (440 N. 8th, Lincoln, Neb.), complete with a clock counting down the days until he can be voted out of the Senate. Virginians are angry too, meeting tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. outside Sen. Jim Webb's Falls Church Office (7309 Arlington Boulevard) to "just say NO to socialized medicine." With the latest poll showing that Americans "mostly disapprove" of the health plan (53% to 35%), this is just a preview of things to come if the bill survives the Senate and heads to conference.
