More Civil, Polite Society

Rep Bob Brady (D-PA), Rep Louise Slaughter and others are calling for Congress to create a more civil society. Previously, Robert A. Heinlein (1907-1988) wrote, "An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life". [I always thought it was Mark Twain that said that!] With that as a start point, The Polite Society was started in 2003 with the aim to hold shooting events to test handgun skills used in personal defense. In the "Mason County News, Serving the Citizens of Mason County, Texas" in a column entitled, An armed society is a polite society ~ Robert Heinlein, Kendal Hemphill, Columnist, February 17, 2010, wrote, "When people carry guns, society is far more polite than when they don’t."
