Yesterday, while listening to Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik's press conference, I became convinced that the sheriff was trying to divert attention and blame away from himself and his sheriff department for failure to track and arrest the shooter before the shootings. Dupnik knew that Giffords was in town and that the shooter had been haressing Giffords for years; Dupnik should have offered protection to Giffords. It was irresponsible to not have a deputy at this meeting.
