Schools and Education

People who attended schools where all were treated equally; had segregated sports; had only books, tablets, pencils, chalkboards and chalk were the people that put men on the moon and explored our solar system. Teachers taught and students learned; often in natural air schools with fans and coal stoves.
Now, teachers strike for more and more and teach less and less. We build bigger and higher-tech buildings. Students are learning less and less. Most student can't write coherently, can't write cursive, can't do math in their heads or on paper, can't read above 5th grade level. These students have touble traveling across town without a smart phone and GPS. Teachers and their unions say they need more money to solve the problems.
If that were the problem, home-schooled children should be the dumbest students around; but tests and stats show the opposite. But by and large, they are the smartest and most prepared for college and the job market.
