Don't know where USDA is measuring the inflation, but consumers have experienced about 20%. Ground beef went from $2.43 to $3.28/pound - 35%. Velveeta has gone from $4.70 to $6.50/2 pounds - 38%. This is from Dec 2011 to Aug 2011. (Trust us, we are from the government and are here to help.)

Ethanol as a fuel or additive is a no-gainer. I experience about a 10% loss in MPG when I use gasoline with 10% ethanol. When I use fuel from Pilot stations that do not have the additive, my MPG increases a noticeable amount. Burning food for fuel only drives up prices of food. At least Perry is honest.

And, I do not think that this reduction is binding on future Congresses! It appears that all we the people got was a screwing and more debt to be repaid, i.e., higher taxes.
