Click on Social Capitalist Awards 2008 logo and end up at http://www.fastcompany.com/social/2008/profiles/points-of-light-hands-on-network.html which mentions Points of Light, a.k.a. George H. Bush's volunteer initiative. On August 1, 2007, The Points of Light Foundation and Hands On Network merged to become an integrated, dynamic new presence in the volunteer sector.
Couple this with the Big "0"s emphasis on volunteering through AmeriCorps and Big "0"s meeting with the elder Bush (George H.) at Texas A&M and Bush's note that students SHOULD NOT protest Big "0", makes me wonder. (Do a search for Americorps Obama (Big "0" won't work.).) The first result when I searched was Obama praises elder Bush at A&M which takes you to the Dallas News at http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/texassouthwest/stories/DN-obamatexas_17tex.ART.State.Edition1.4c1c61f.html - "Obama played off Bush's call for a "thousand points of light" at the 1989 inaugural, building on the metaphor just as Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and his own administration built on Bush's legacy of support for volunteerism.
"'He didn't call for one blinding light shining from Washington. He didn't just call for a few bright lights from the biggest nonprofits,' Obama said.
